TITLE: VICTIM WITNESS COUNSELOR I (OPS Payroll)
Immediate full time position is available for a Victim Witness Counselor I in the Victim & Witness Services Unit. This position is being offered on our OPS (Other Personnel Services) temporary payroll, with health insurance benefits. This position requires extensive telephone contact with victims and witnesses and high volume case management. Responsibilities include coordinating witness appearances for trial and depositions, assessing the victim’s needs, utilizing appropriate community resources for victim assistance and assisting the Assistant State Attorneys to prepare for trial.
Candidate must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Candidate must also be able to work effectively under pressure, meet stringent time constraints, be detail-oriented and able to work flexible hours between the 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. shift. Preference may be given to a candidate who is bi-lingual (English and Spanish). This position could become a regular payroll position in the future.
Minimum qualifications are:
- Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or Social Science and one year higher level customer service, preferred or,
- Four (4) years equivalent combination of training and experience.
Hourly Salary: $11.74
