Resources Being Added to Locate
Missing Children




Miami (February 10, 2005) – State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and the Child Protection Education of America Foundation Join Together to Help Missing Children Miami (February 10, 2005) - Child Protection Education of America (CPEA) a national foundation dedicated to the recovery of missing and exploited children will be joining with Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle to add additional resources to our local efforts to locate missing children swiftly, before tragedy occurs. To insure child safety, CPEA will be donating "Tiffany" a trained bloodhound to the Miami-Dade School Board Police Department.

Hilary Sessions, the Executive Director of CPEA will be providing the dog for the use of the police at a 1:30 p.m. press conference. Also in attendance will be School Board Police Chief Gerald Darling and Al Fernandez from the Missing Children Department of the Miami Dade Police Department. A discussion of ways to help insure the safety of children will also be held.

The press conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Office of the State Attorney in room S-418 in the E. R. Graham building located at 1350 NW 12th Avenue, Miami. Please arrive early enough to obtain security clearance through the building's security review process.

Florida Supreme Court Justice to Renew State Attorney's Oath of Office Tomorrow Swearing in Follows November Election Victory


Miami (January 13, 2005) - Florida Supreme Court Justice Raoul Cantero will be in Miami tomorrow to assist in the installation of Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle as State Attorney for Florida's largest prosecutor's office, and the fourth largest in the United States. As a part of the official ceremony, each Assistant State Attorney will also take their oath of office in accordance with the requirements of Florida's statutes.

The ceremony will take place Friday afternoon, January 14th, at 2:00 p.m. in courtroom 4-1 of the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, 1351 NW 12th Street, Miami.

"I feel honored and proud to be embarking on a new term as Dade's chief prosecutor," commented State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. "The people of this community have again entrusted me with this office and I will continue our pattern of innovation and success in the fight against crime in Dade County. Working with all law enforcement agencies, together, we will continue to reduce crime, fight public corruption and make our community a safer place to live and raise our families."
