Various positions are available for a Legal Secretary I in the Traffic/Crimes Division of County Court Division. These positions involve handling Misdemeanors or Criminal Traffic casework and managing multiple tasks within the division. Duties consist of preparing Crimes/Traffic misdemeanor cases set for court; identifying key witnesses for Discovery; updating witnesses in CJIS/TIS; sending trial subpoenas and preparing court calendars; extensive telephone contact; retrieving files for motions, completing reports and trial calendars and processing incoming mail. The work shift for this position is 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Minimum requirements are:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Two (2) years clerical or secretarial experience
- Accurate typing speed of 20 words per minute
- Must be computer literate
Candidates must possess excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills, work effectively under pressure, be able to meet stringent deadlines and be receptive to change. Candidates must also work effectively with all levels of staff and have very good verbal and written communication skills.
Starting Annual Salary: $25,221.12
