TITLE: Legal Secretary 1 – Legal Court Unit

               Child Support Division

An immediate position is available for a Legal Secretary in the Legal Court Unit of the Child Support Division. The primary duties for this position include providing excellent customer service when greeting and checking in clients prior to their court hearing, answering client questions, directing parties to the correct court room, the court specialist, or to the correct floor in the child support building. Other duties include e-mailing ASAs when their case is ready, interacting with AOC staff, Gulf Coast Staff, generating cd prints, copying and processing notices and court orders, working Cams tasks, reviewing and making entries on the CORTS and CAMS systems; transporting large volumes of files within the Legal Department and processing large volumes of court orders. The work shift for this position is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The successful candidates must be able to work effectively under pressure, be detail-oriented, handle stressful situations, meet stringent time constraints, and possess very good verbal, written and organization skills. The candidate must also be able to work independently and be adaptable to change.

Minimum requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years of clerical or general office experience.
  • Must be computer literate
  • Successful Completion of a Skills Test, and type 20 accurate WPM
  • Preference will be given to the candidate who is bilingual in English and Spanish
  • The ability to lift boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds on a regular basis is required

Starting Annual Salary: $25,669.08
