Human Resource Department

There is an immediate position available for a Human Resource Assistant, in the Human Resource Department. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing weekly timesheets, which includes extensive data entry. Additional duties include, processing payroll transactions, processing leave of absences, placing new hires on payroll; high volume telephone and email contact, which includes, assisting employees with their questions/concerns, gathering the facts and evaluating the solutions and ensuring the concerns are resolved expeditiously; updating all necessary data in the computer and ensuring excellent customer service is provided at all times. The work schedule for this position is 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., (which includes a 30 minute lunch).

The minimum requirements for the position are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience, one of which must have been in a Human Resource Department
  • Must type a minimum of 20 accurate words per minute
  • Must have working knowledge of personnel processes and be computer literate, to include Excel
  • Must pass a Skills Test, and a Time and Attendance Calculation Test

Within two (2) years of being in this position and performing at an “exceeds standard” or “outstanding” level, this position will be reclassified to a H.R. Assistant II. Candidates must be personable, be able to deal effectively with all levels of staff; must possess great analytical skills, be able to perform multiple high priority tasks simultaneously, meet stringent deadlines and be detailed oriented. Candidates must be proficient in basic arithmetic, solving mathematical scenarios. Candidates must also be able to work independently and effectively handle stressful situations on a daily basis. Candidates must be able to handle confidential information with the highest degree of professional responsibility.

Starting Annual Salary: $26,378.28
