INVESTIGATOR II
- Community Outreach Division

Annual Salary: $37,680.00

An immediate position is available for an Investigator II / Community Outreach Representative in the Community Outreach Division. This position requires flexible hours including a work schedule that regularly includes evening, weekends, and holidays. Workweek may vary week to week. This candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting preliminary investigations regarding citizen complaints, prepare reports and findings.
  • During state emergencies or natural disasters, coordinate and inform the community on the after-math of a disaster.
  • Developing and maintain a network of resources and community relations among community leaders, organizations, associations, businesses, etc.
  • Generating community events/activities for COD participations and managing various events and participants.
  • Educating and being a referral source to the public and public speaking.
  • Attending local community meetings and events, e.g. Crime Watch, civic group meetings, ect in order to inform and be a liaison to the community.
  • Back up Justice in Motion (JIM) driver and gathering and maintaining area information and contact records.
  • General office duties and projects as required and back up to the Criminal Investigations Division.

Minimum qualifications are five (5) years prior sworn investigative or law enforcement experience. Candidate must also possess a State of Florida, Division of Criminal Justice, standards and training certificate, and meet the requirements of section 943.13 Florida Statutes. Preference may be given to candidates who possess a valid and current commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B driver's license with airbrake certification. Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, problem analysis and decisiveness skills, familiar with the geographical layout of Miami Dade County, possess a valid driver's license and a very good driving record. Candidate must meet the requirements of the office driving policy. Computer skills required, use of Word, Internet and Excel (Power Point a plus). Candidate must have experience in public relations, be self motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, be very detail-oriented and organized and should be innovative, energetic and enthusiastic.
