ASSISTANT STATE ATTORNEY - LEGAL DIVISION
The Legal Division of the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office provides pretrial and trial support for the assistants. Duties include researching and being able to orally provide legal support for assistants in court as well as writing motions on investigative, pretrial and trial issues; handling post-conviction motions; researching, writing and arguing appellate briefs and petitions; attending trials of complex cases. Minimum 5 years of extensive criminal experience, with appellate experience required. Salary will be commensurate with experience, within the range of $55,000 to $65,000 per annum. ENTRY LEVEL & LATERAL POSITIONS
We recruit 3L law students for entry level positions. Those who have demonstrated an interest in litigation and/or criminal law through course work and/or internships are preferred. Clinical participation is strongly preferred.
We also recruit attorneys with prosecutorial experience for lateral positions.

CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT DIVISION
- Entry level positions for recent law school graduates who qualify for Supreme Court certification or Florida Bar members with no experience who have demonstrated an interest in family law through coursework and/or internships.
- Lateral positions for Florida Bar members with a minimum of one year of family law experience
To handle a large volume caseload with emphasis on many aspects of civil litigation including basic and complex issues relating to paternity, support, enforcement, modifications, UIFSA cases and other related child support issues. Duties include drafting pleadings and other legal documents, case preparation and court presentation before General Magistrates, Hearing Officers, and Judges.
Entry level salary $34,000 prior to Florida Bar admission; $40,000 after Florida Bar admission.
Lateral salary will be commensurate with experience.
